This workshop aims to bring together leading researchers working on the modelling and estimation of consumer demand and to provide an active forum to discuss ideas and points of view. We welcome work on demand that emphasizes different facets of consumption decisions and follows different approaches (e.g., discrete and continuous choice or parametric and nonparametric analysis). The unifying theme is a microeconometric approach to demand analysis. Both theoretical and applied work are welcome. A key issue in all approaches that we would like to put forward as a core topic is the modelling of unobserved heterogeneity. Work that is not primarily concerned with this issue is equally welcome.

Confirmed participants include:

  • Richard Blundell
  • Arthur Lewbel
  • Rosa Matzkin
  • Whitney Newey
  • Ariel Pakes
